Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 APQ8016 is an ARM based system on chip designed mainly for lower mid-range devices running on the Android operating system. The chip was announced in 2013 and was seen in lots of Smartphones in that year and the next.
It was the first 64-bit SOC by Qualcomm at the time of release. The chip was known for utilizing four ARM Cortex-A53 (quad-core) processor cores and being able to clock up to 1.2 GHz.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 APQ8016 Processor
As expected, the chip executes its tasks by utilizing four ARM Cortex-A53 cores, combined with a 64 Bit LPDDR2/3 memory controller. This automatically gives it the ability to support WLAN, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS/GLOSNASS /BeiDou, and UMTS/LTE radio.
It also offers both 32-bit and 64-bit CPU support and can be used with embedded applications. Its operation is power efficient, although that will be explained below when we talk about the process node.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 APQ8016 Graphics
Powered by the Adreno 306 GPU, the chip can conveniently provide support for basic applications and games. The visual experience is decent for mid-range devices. At that time, you can be able to play all the standard games and high-end games, but it’s impossible to say the same now.
Process Technology (nm)
The SoC is built on then premium 28nm FinFET process technology capable of providing medium power consumption. To be honest, it was really power efficient then, however, compared to now, that isn’t the case any longer. The 7nm process technology which was utilised to design the Snapdragon 855 is surely a beast in terms of saving power.
The chipset has a fairly low rating across several benchmarks. On AnTuTu v6, the chip scores 28399 Points (10%), while on Geekbench it reaches a median of 1443 on multi-core and 482 on single-core.
