The HTC U12 Life sports a tall 6-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels, the screen has a pixel per inch density of 402. Whereas, the U12 Plus sports a 6-inch Super LCD6 capacitive tourchscreen with 1440 x 2880 Pixels in resolution and 537ppi.

The HTC U12 Life houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset with an octa-core processor and a clocking speed of up to 1.8GHz. The U12 Life has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage space.
While the U12 Plus houses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with octa-core processor clocking at 2.8GHz. In the RAM department the U12 Plus has 6GB and 64/128GB storage space.
For the Software, HTC U12 Life runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system with stock Android One on top. While the U12 Plus runs on the Android 8.0 Oreo operating system though there are plans from HTC to move it to Android 9.0(P).
