Cubot A5 has been quietly introduced by the OEM, this is to make sure the name “Cubot” won’t be forgotten anytime soon. The company won our hearts with the P20 which was built around a notch display and is quite a trend on shopping stores. We also saw the Quest smartphone with Android Pie at the CSES in Hong Kong. The A5, however, targets those on a budget that wants a bigger 3GB RAM and 32GB storage space.
The device sports a Plastic body and a metal frame, looking like most affordable smartphones from the company. The rear camera and LED flash are visible at the top left corner, while the fingerprint scanner has been moved to the front. It measures 8.5 mm in thickness, weighs 188g overall as well and is available in Gold and Blue colors.
The A5 is built around a 5.5-inch FHD IPS LCD standard display. The screen boasts of 1080 x 1920 pixels in resolution along with a 401 pixel per inch density for clear visuals. Overall, the beautiful screen stretches up to 72.62% screen-to-body as well.
Software and Hardware
It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Running the race here is the MT6753 chipset from MediaTek, it comes with 8-cores of processor clocking at 1.5GHz for a smooth ride.
The ARM Mali-T720 MP3 graphics card handles graphics. For storing files, the device packs 32GB internal storage space which is expandable up to 128GB using a memory card. It boasts of 3GB RAM space as well for multitasking through apps.
The Cubot A5 features a 13MP rear camera for photography. The camera is accompanied by a LED flash and other internal features listed in the table below. For taking selfies, there’s an 8MP Selfie camera for all your selfies.
Powering up the A5 is a 3000mAh battery capacity, there’s support for fast charging here. Charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 2 hours.
