Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite has finally been introduced by Xiaomi as the watered-down variant of the Mi 8 and Mi 8 Pro we reviewed earlier. The Lite version is powered by Snapdragon 660 chipset and has the best selfie camera in the Mi 8 family, it sports a 24MP selfie shooter on its little notch. Lets find out more.
Design
The Mi 8 Lite sports an aluminium alloy overall unibody with gradient colors, because that’s what’s trending now. The dual rear camera at the top left corner are now in a horizontal position. It will be available in Twilight gold, Dream blue and Deep space gray colors, while measuring 7.5mm in thickness and weighing 169g.
Display
The phone is built around a 6.26-inch FHD IPS LCD 19:9 notch display. The screen boasts of 1080 x 2280 pixels in resolution along with a 403 pixel per inch density for clear visuals. The screen also got up to 82.5% screen-to-body ratio as well.
Software and Hardware
The new smartphone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with MIUI 10. Under the hood, the Snapdragon 660 chipset from Qualcomm runs the show, coming with 8-cores of processor which clocks at 2.2GHz for a smooth ride.
The Adreno 512 graphics card handles graphics. For storing files, the device packs 64GB/128GB internal storage space which is not expandable. It has 4GB/6GB RAM space variants as well for multitasking through apps.
Camera
It’s equipped with dual 12MP + 5MP for photography and accompanied with other internal features listed in the table below. While for selfies, it sports a 24MP selfie shooter.
Battery
Powering it up is a 3350mAh battery capacity with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 2 hours.
