Sharp Aquos R2 Compact has just become the first smartphone with dual-notch display. Are you thinking of buying a smartphone with the normal notch or waterdrop notch? Well, here you go. How about having both of the notch on the same smartphone. The R2 Compact is powered by the Snapdragon 845 flagship chipset and runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box as well.
Design
The device was designed with polycarbonate-acrylic resin hybrid material that’s glossy just like the Sense2 and Zero. It has four curved sides that’s really attractive, while the rear camera and LED are the only rear features on the phone. The fingerprint scanner lives on top of the bottom notch. It measures 9.3mm in thickness, weighs 135g overall and will be available in Black, White and Green colors only.
Display
The Aquos R2 Compact is built around a 5.2-inch FHD+ IGZO dual-notch display. The screen boasts of 1080 x 2280 pixels in resolution along with a 485 pixel per inch density for clear visuals as well. Overall, the screen stretches up to 80.76% screen-to-body ratio.
Software and Hardware
It runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box as well. Under the hood, the Snapdragon 845 from Qualcomm is still in total control, it comes with 8-cores of processor clocking at 2.8GHz for a smooth ride.
The Qualcomm Adreno 630 graphics card is in control of everything graphics. The phone boasts of a 64GB internal storage space for storing up your files, this is expandable up to 512GB using a memory card. It boasts of 4GB RAM space, this can be used to multitask through apps and tasks.
Camera
The Sharp Aquos R2 Compact features a single 23MP rear camera for taking photographs. The camera is equipped with a dual-LED flash and other internal features listed in the table below. For taking selfies, there’s an 8MP selfie shooter that has its own notch.
Battery
Powering up the Aquos R2 Compact is a 2500mAh battery capacity with fast charging technology. Charging the battery from 0% to 100% Shouldn’t take up to 1.5 hours tops.
