The chip is a product of Taiwanese manufacturer TSMC manufactured in a 28nm LP process which according to specifications is expected to produce medium power consumption on a medium sized or larger smartphone and tablets.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 Processor
Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 has been built with improved efficiency Cortex- A53 cores which is compatible with a 64-bit ARMv8 ISA. The cores are expected to offer higher performance per clock which surpasses the older Cortex-A9 design, it is a successor to the Cortex-A7 design.
The cores of thw 616 are ‘eight’ in number, divided into two quad-core clusters. One cluster clocks up to 1.7GHz known for higher performance and more demanding applications, while the other cluster can clock up to 1.2GHz used for smaller applications and energy saving purposes.
It records high efficiency output as all eight cores can be active at the same time if the application is capable.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 Graphics
The GPU in the Snapdragon 616 is called Adreno 405 and it has an API Support of OpenGL ES 3.1.
