Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha is the world’s first 180% Screen-to-body ratio smartphone

Xiaomi has announced the Mi Mix Alpha while fans were expecting to see the Mi Mix 4 as the direct update of the Mi Mix 3 5G. The Mi Mix Alpha is here to break all records and set the bar high in terms of display, because that’s what the Mi Mix series are known for.

It’s the world’s first smartphone with a staggering 180% Screen-to-body ratio, this was achieved by stretching the display all the way to the sides. There’s only a vertical line left at the back where the triple camera lens are strategically positioned.

Apart from that, the smartphone comes with an in-display sound system as well as an in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone was announced as a 5G smartphone, while the main sensor of the triple camera will be a 108MP shooter.

The display which is being promoted as a “surround display”, takes a lot of space on the phone and there’s no selfie camera. Which isn’t a problem, just like the Nubia Z20, the triple cameras can be used as the selfie shooter as well. In terms of specifications, it is revealed to house the Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset and have up to 12/5125 gigabytes of configuration.

It should be powered by a 4000mAh battery and supports 40W fast charging. The triple camera will be a 108MP main sensor with f/1.69 aperture, a 20MP wide-angle shooter and a 12MP depth sensor. The date of official launch hasn’t been revealed yet.
