Xiaomi demonstrates its Hidden Under-Display Camera Technology

It’s no longer news that top smartphone OEMs have been struggling on where to put the selfie camera of a smartphone in order to achieve the full screen-to-body ratio. Xiaomi recently released the Redmi K20 Pro, its first smartphone with pop-up selfie.

However, it looks like that’s not all the company has in store for us. Xiaomi’s Senior VP has released new posters teasing what the under-display camera technology will look like.

From the posters, it’s obvious the selfie camera on either the upcoming Mi Mix 4 and Mi 10 will be completing invisible, unlike the ones on the Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus.

The front facing camera will now be hidden under the display. According to the poster, when you switch to Selfie in the camera app, the display area that covers will immediately be transparent, allowing the light to go in.
