Why upcoming Huawei smartphones won’t be powered by Android

Following the US-China trade war and the recent ban of all Huawei’s operations in the United States, by President Donald Trump. By law, other US based companies have began cutting ties with the Chinese tech giant, Huawei.

Huawei recently reached the world’s second-biggest smartphone manufacturer overtaking Apple and aims to take over Sansung by 2021.

Apart from Google, other companies like Intel, Broadcom, Xilinx and Qualcomm has reportedly cut ties with the Chinese company. This means future Huawei smartphones won’t run on Android, while the P30 and P30 Pro will most likely not receive Android Q.

Huawei heavily depends on these US companies in order to stay afloat. The company’s flagship, the P30 Pro is currently at the top of DXOMark for its impressive camera prowess. Fans of the company have taken to Twitter using the hashtag #boycottgoogle.
