Vodafone Smart E9 was introduced today alongside the X9 and will be available immediately on shopping stores. The E9 was designed specifically for those who won’t be able to afford the X9 and those on a tight budget. Vodafone calls it a “simple start” smartphone, probably for first time users or old people.
Design
The phone sports a pure plastic body that’s easy to hold and operate. There’s no rear fingerprint scanner and the company didn’t mention anything about Face Unlock, this means you have to depend on the pattern unlock. It measures 9.8mm in thickness, weighs 134g overall as well and is available in only Black.
Display
The Smart E9 is built around a 5-inch IPS LCD full view display. The screen boasts of 480 x 960 pixels in resolution along with a 215 pixel per inch density for clear visuals. Overall, the beautiful screen stretches up to 71.6% screen-to-body as well and is protected by a normal glass.
Software and Hardware
It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition out of the box. Running the race here is the MT6739WA chipset from MediaTek, it comes with 4-cores of processor clocking at 1.28GHz for a smooth ride.
The PowerVR GE8100 graphics card handles graphics. For storing files, the device packs 8GB internal storage space which is expandable up to 64GB using a memory card. It boasts of 1GB RAM space as well for multitasking through apps.
Camera
The Vodafone Smart E9 features a 5MP rear camera for photography. The camera is accompanied by a LED flash and other internal features listed in the table below. For taking selfies, there’s a 2MP selfie shooter for all your selfies.
Battery
Powering up the Smart E9 is a 2000mAh battery capacity, there’s no support for fast charging here. Charging the battery from 0% to 100% might take up to 2 hours.
