Tecno POP 2 and POP 2 Power have been quietly introduced by Tecno Mobile, we can exclusively confirm. The POP 2 is an upgrade to the POP 1S Pro released by the company couple of months ago. We got the first photos of the device and there has been a few changes here and there, especially design-wise. We previously reported about the new Camon 11 and 11 Pro mid-range smartphones from Tecno which is trending on shopping stores at the moment.
Design
The device comes with a Plastic body that looks quite similar to its predecessor. However, looking closely at the top left corner, the camera and LED flash are now in a different position. There’s no fingerprint scanner again, meaning you have to depend on the Face Unlock feature. It is 9.35mm thick and will be available in Champagne Gold, Midnight Black and City Blue colors.
Display
The POP 2 Power dishes out a 5.5-inch IPS LCD full view display. The screen boasts of 480 x 960 pixels in resolution along with a 195 pixel per inch density for clear visuals as well. Overall, the screen stretches up to 71.4% screen-to-body ratio.
Software and Hardware
It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition out of the box based on HiOS 3.3. Running the race here, is the MT6580 chipset from MediaTek which comes with 4-cores of processor clocking at 1.3GHz for a smooth ride.
The ARM Mali-400 MP2 graphics card handles everything graphics. The phone packs 8GB/16GB internal storage space for storing your files, you can expand up to 64GB using a memory card. You get just 1GB RAM space for multitasking through light apps and tasks.
Camera
The Tecno POP 2 Power features a single 5MP rear camera for all your photography needs. The camera is equipped with a dual-LED flash and other internal features listed in the table below. For taking selfies, there’s an 8MP selfie shooter at the top bezel.
Battery
Powering up the POP 2 is a moderate 2400mAh battery capacity without support for fast charging. Charging the battery from 0% to 100% might take up to 2.3 hours or more. While the POP 2 Power comes with a bigger 4,000 mAh battery with no fast charging as well.
