The Note 8 houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, with octa-core processor clocking at 2.35GHz. The Note 8 has 6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB storage space.

While the Note 9 houses the Snapdragon 845 chipset with octa-core processor clocking at 2.8GHz. In the RAM department, the Note 9 has 6GB/8GB and 128GB/512GB storage space.

For the Software, the Note 8 runs on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS operating system, which is upgradeable to Oreo. While the Note 9 runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box.
