The Samsung Galaxy Book 2 has been introduced by Samsung with the new Snapdragon 850 chip from Qualcomm. This means Samsung kinda ditched Intel’s Core Processor for Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon chip with the new 2-in-1 tablet PC. According to Samsung, the new Snapdragon 850 chip gives the tablet PC improved battery life compared to the first book with Intel. It also ensures a fully-integrated always-on LTE connectivity.
The Book 2 looks absolutely stunning, I love the way the smooth rubber feel keyboard now attaches to the tablet making it look more professional as well. It looks pretty much like Microsoft’s Surface Pro even better, there’s also a foldable kickstand integrated into the back of the tablet. The dimensions are 287.5 x 200.4 x 7.62 mm and it weighs 794g.
There’s a series of pins alongside magnetic connectors at the bottom edge. There’s a dual loudspeaker ports by the side, which was tuned by AKG and loud enough with nice bass. Then there’s the new S Pen which is now pretty much bigger, at the same time also light and comfortable.
Samsung integrated an eraser on the opposite end, this will allow creators to erase their mistakes as well. The rear camera is now at the left corner from the stage center we saw the previous one. There’s also a rear fingerprint scanner, which is rampant these days on tablet PC. The volume keys and power button sits at the top left edge of the laptop.
The Samsung Galaxy Book 2 is built around a 12-inch FHD+ AMOLED capacitive touchscreen boasting of 2160 x 1080 pixels in resolution and 216 pixel per inch density. It comes with lots of bezels and of course the trendy Samsung’s latest wallpaper we saw on the Galaxy J4 Plus and J6 Plus.
Software and Hardware
As stated above, the Book 2 is powered by the Snapdragon 850 chipset with an octa-core processor reaching an impressive clock speed of up to 2.96GHz. There’s a Snapdragon X20 LTE modem, while the Adreno 630 graphics card manages graphics. There’s 4GB RAM space available for multitasking, a 128GB storage space for storing files which of course is expandable via microSD.
The Galaxy Book 2 is equipped with an 8MP rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and takes clear and sharp images. There’s another 5MP selfie camera for Skype and video calls as well.
The tablet comes with Bluetooth 5.0 latest version with two USB-C ports on the right side along with a 3.5mm headset jack. The usual Wi-Fi/GPS configurations are present as well.
