During launch, Samsung assured that the chip offers a lot of unknown and known innovations to the flagship table. However, its main goal was to provide the best experience ever on mobile.

It also comes with the all new Vision Processing Unit (VPU), this unit was designed specifically for machine vision technology. Basically, the unit improves the recognition of an item and its movements by analyzing the visual information via the camera lens.

We know it comes with an octa-core processor, however, you should know that the cores were custom designed as Samsung’s second generation main CPU cores. Of course, this will improve power efficiency because four of the cores are Cortex®-A53 cores, while the four handles performance.

All these are made possible thanks to the new improved IP and architectural design, Samsung also integrated artificial intelligence and deep learning as well. Speaking of integrating, the 9 8895 is the first in the mobile industry to integrate a gigabit LTE modem, just before the 9810. Supporting downloading speed of up to 1Gbps with 5CA and upload speeds of up to 150Mbps with 2CA.

Apart from delivering the speed and reliability you need, you should also know that the chip was designed to support recording and video playback of 4K UHD videos @ 120fps using the latest video codecs. For photography, it supports dual rear camera with up to 28MP for each rear and front camera. It also comes with dual ISP, one focuses on high quality, while the other focuses on low power, with other advanced features like Smart WDR and PDAF.

Samsung Exynos 8895 Graphics

ARM’s latest GPU at the time, the Mali G71 MP20 was used in the graphics department. The graphics card came with twenty powerful graphics processing cores. With these metrics, the performance was obviously increased by up to 60% compared to its predecessor. This is more than enough to handle 3D mobile graphics content and the latest graphics API. You should expect sharp graphic details and improved power efficiency.

Process Technology (nm)

Speaking of power efficiency, the 8895 was designed on the much newer 10m FinFET process technology. You should also expect improved power efficiency and amazing speed compared to the older 14nm FinFET process node.

Benchmarks (AnTuTu)

On the popular AnTuTu benchmark, specifically on the version 6, the 8895 reaches a minimum score of 165382, an avgerage of 170421, median of 171884, and a max points of 173997.
