Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 is a high end single chip system which evolved in early 2017. The Snapdragon 835 is the successor to the 821, it was a significant milestone on Qualcomm’s roadmap. It recorded a solid improvement over the 808/810 delivering higher performance and efficiency finding its way into the majority of flagship smartphones as at 2017.
Process Technology
The Snapdragon 835 which has more than 3 billion transistor single chip system is the first to use the 10nm 10LPE FinFet manufacturing node. This reduces overall package size by 35% relative to the 820. Replacing the 820/821 as the pinnacle processor in its lineup. The chipset is packed with abilities and functionalities that will allow users do more with their mobile devices.
The third-generation FinFET node allows up to a 30% increase in area efficiency with 27% higher performance or up to 40% lower power consumption. Relative to its first-generation 14nm 14LPE node at the same frequency, the Snapdragon 835 posses advantage over the 820, which uses the second-generation 14LPP node, will be a bit less. However it can’t be compared to the 7nm process on the 855.

It supports Adreno 540 graphics processing unit of real-life quality visuals for a better view and graphic experience. This is better for gaming as it produces advanced 3D visual effect.

The Qualcomm Spectra 180 camera ISP offers a dual 14-bit ISPs support with up to 32MP single or 16MP dual cameras and zero shutter lag. It also provides more real colors which provides image quality with an improved quality. It possess a high advantage over the dual 14-bit spectra ISP of single 25MP or dual 13MP of the snapdragon 820 and 821.
The 835 is also built with the Qualcomm Hexagon 682 DSP which is designed to improve performance and battery life it includes the All Ways Aware sensor hub and Hexagon vector extensions for the best and optimum functionality. This makes it a good support for latest machine learning frameworks and image processing.
