Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 Review, Phones, Specs, Benchmarks

Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 has two versions, 810 version1 and the 810 version2. The chip was introduced in April 2014 and is a successor to the Snapdragon 808. Following the big deal about the Snapdragon 810 is certain speculation that it overheats.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 810

This brought the first familiar saga about various industries, sources, tests and observers who have made suggestions that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v1 runs too hot or performs its speed load under heavy loads. But this problem however is still being debated at the moment. Then came the 810 v2 chip which Qualcomm advanced to tackle overheating issues and other minor improvements.

Process Technology (nm)

Power consumption is minimal with The Snapdragon 810, built on the 20nanometer (nm) processor which makes a noticeable difference from its predecessors which were built on 28nanometer (nm) processors.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 Octa-Core Processor

The CPU has eight four fast Cortex-A57 which runs at a clock speed of about 2.0GHz and offers more performance with four slower but very efficient cores, The Cortex-A53 at clock speed of 1.5GHz which handle simple background task and small applications. All 8 cores are based on the ARMv8 ISA and therefore 64-bit capable thereby enhancing mobile experience by improving processing speed and reducing power consumption.

h1> Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 Graphics

The chip performs with the Adreno 430 which outperforms the Adreno 420 in the 805. The little difference in the Snapdragon 810 v1 and v2.
Firstly, there’s a slight appearance of GPU increase, the 810 version 1 which runs on Adreno 430 at 600MHZ now runs on 630MHz augmenting a 5% increase in performance in the 810 version2. This no doubt was to close an effort from its subsidiary Samsung’s Mali-T760 MPS powered by Exynos 7420.

Performance

Nevertheless, the Snapdragon 810 offers sufficient power for high end devices with a FullHD exceeding resolutions. Secondly, the memory capacity in its L1 and L2 caches increased around 15%.
The video camera can capture up to 4K ultra HD videos at 30Fps(frames per second), also it has a 2x image signal processor and up to 50MP megapixel support camera.

The Snapdragon 810’s X10 LTE supports 450Mbps of download speed, integrated fully with 3x 20MHz LTE Advanced carrier network conditions and an upload speed of about 50Mbps at 1x 20MHz. This means you can download a full length HD movie in less than minutes. The 810 supports a Wi-Fi standard of 802.11ac Wave 2 and 802.11a/b/g and 802.11n with Wi-Fi spectra band of 2.4GHz and 5GHz offering a speed of about 867Mbps.

It possesses the 4.1 Bluetooth connections, with advanced features of low power Geofencing and tracking as well as sensor assisted navigation and pedestrian navigation. It also comes with the Qualcomm Quickcharge 2.0 technology.

Benchmarks (AnTuTu)

Over at AnTuTu, specifically on the version 6, the chip reaches a low of 54213, avg of 77395.4, median of 78913 and max points of 94122.
