Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Review, Phones, Specs and Benchmarks

Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 was announced in 2016 alongside the Snapdragon 626, it’s a mid range octa-core system-on-chip designed for mid-range devices running on the Android OS. The SOC fully integrates the 64-Bit architecture utilizing 8 Cortex A53 CPU cores that can reach up to 2GHz, designed to give the user a befitting experience with a decent power consumption rate.

The chip maximises the 14nm technology design (which will be discussed below) in providing a computing speed of up to 2.0GHz. It is fitted with a DDR3L-1866 memory controller and Qualcomm® Hexagon™ 546 DSP which enhances audio, video and computer use without compromising battery performance. The dual ISP support of the chip ensures that high quality images are produced using the camera of the device it powers. It fully supports 4G connectivity Cat 7 downlink, up to 300 Mbps, Cat 13 uplink, up to 150 Mbps.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Graphics

The same Adreno 506 GPU on the 626 is also fitted into the chip to ensure vibrant and breathe-taken graphics output, as it is capable of rendering high definition games. It supports advanced APIs and Hardware Tessellation as well.

Process Technology (nm)

The SoC is built on the premium 14nm FinFET process technology, this enhances the power saving capabilities of the chip. Apart from saving more power, it’s also capable of running on mid-range devices.

Benchmarks (AnTuTu)

The chipset has a decent rating across several benchmarks, scoring a whopping 37065 points (86%) on the Quadrant Standard Edition 2.0. Stoping by at AnTuTu, it scored a min of 59867, avg of 63395.6, median of 63206 and a max point of 68348.
