Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 was launched alongside two other chipsets from Qualcomm at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in Shanghai. The processor is said to be a mid-level alternative inside a series, and it is expected to provide better performance over a portion of the entry-level alternatives in the market.
Most notable about the Snapdragon 439 and 429 SoCs is that they are said to bring to the table a new Artificial Intelligence technology that is expected to improve voice, camera and overall security experience.
Process Technology (nm)
The 439 is known to have been engineered on a 12nm advanced FinFET process technology at TSMC, and the processors enhances CPU performance and power efficiency by 25% over its predecessor the Snapdragon 430, according to it’s manufacturers.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 Octa-core Processor
The chip has an octa-core processor, which has a combination of 8 cores CPU with 4 efficiency quad-core clocked at speed of up to 2.0 GHz and performance quad-core clocked at 1.45GHz, while utilizing ARM Cortex A53 Octa-core CPU. It’s CPU architecture is 64-bit enabled. Using the Snapdragon 439 mobile platform-powered device, users can do more, and generate a faster result as compared to the previous generation. They can be able to multitask throughout the day without having worries about their device slowing them down.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 Graphics
The 439 utilizes the Adreno 505 GPU which supports Vulkan 1.1, OpenGL ES 3.1 and an API support. This is said to offer a 20% boost in graphics rendering.
It supports a 21MP camera as well as dual cameras of 8MP each, and also compatible for a full-HD+ display on screen, as compared to the 429 processor which has support for only HD+ display.
The 439 also harnesses a DSP technology of 536 Hexagon including the Qualcomm All-Ways Aware technology. DSP-Digital signal processing can be programmed which means that they can be used to manage, direct and control different types of information, including sound, images, and video.
It utilizes X6 LTE modem which is dual SIM and dual VoLTE (DSDV) compatible. The X6 LTE has a download speed of about 150Mbps and upload speed of 75Mbps. It also has Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWiFi) with LTE call continuity, HD Voice over 3G and VoLTE.
According to Qualcomm, the X6 LTE coupled with 8 Cortex quad-core processor, the 439 is set to advance by 25% over its predecessor. It has other features like Wi-Fi at standards of 802.11ac Wave 2, 802.11a/b/g and 802.11n with Wi-Fi spectral bands integrating at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz utilizing a speed rate of up to 433 Mbps. It’s Wi-Fi features MU-MIMO as well as an Integrated baseband.
With its Bluetooth 5.0 version and built with a Bluetooth Low Energy technology and Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0, every user is set to have a pleasant experience using the Snapdragon 439.
