Panasonic Toughbook P-01K is the latest smartphone running on Android 8.1 Oreo with no selfie camera. Panasonic just teamed up with Docomo™ to release this affordable rugged smartphone with no selfie camera, selfie lovers won’t like this. Even though it’s IP68 certified and waterproof, you have to turn the phone around to actually take selfies underwater. Nonetheless, it’s powered by the Snapdragon 210 and has a strong body. This is coming hours after the P85 NXT was presented.
Design
The device is designed strictly with Polycarbonate and boasts of an IP68 rating. It also acquired the highest military grade standard MIL-STD-810G rating. There’s no fingerprint scanner as well on this baby. It measures 13.1mm in thickness, weighs 230g overall and will be available in Gray and Green colours.
Display
The Toughbook P-01K is built around a 5-inch HD IPS LCD standard display. The screen boasts of 720 x 1280 pixels in resolution along with a 294 pixel per inch density for clear visuals. Overall, the screen stretches up to 59.86% screen-to-body as well.
Software and Hardware
It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. Under the hood, the Snapdragon 210 chipset from Qualcomm runs the race, it comes with 4-cores of processor clocking at 1.3GHz for a smooth ride.
The Adreno 304 graphics card handles graphics. For storing files, the device packs 16GB internal storage space which is expandable up to 128GB using a memory card. It boasts of just 2GB RAM space for multitasking through apps.
Camera
The Panasonic Toughbook P-01K is equipped with an 8MP rear camera for photography. The camera is accompanied by a LED flash and other internal features listed in the table below.
Battery
Powering up the Toughbook P-01K is a 3100mAh removable battery capacity with no fast charging technology. Without the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% might take up to 2.6 hours.
