OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition will be available for presale tomorrow, the 13th. The device is in collaboration with the McLaren brand, the first to use carbon fibre in Formula 1. So, of course, this edition of the smartphone has the craftsmanship in industrial design. It’s still powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset just like the 6T, but there’s now 10GB of RAM and 256GB Storage.
Design
Three elements were used on this device, a combination of aluminium alloy, Glass and Carbon fiber. It also reflects light in the most stunning way, while the fingerprint reader still sits on the screen. It measures 8.2mm in thickness, weighs 185g overall and available in only Black.
Display
The 6T McLaren Edition is built around a 6.41-inch FHD+ IPS LCD waterdrop display. The screen boasts of 1080 x 2340 pixels in resolution along with a 402 pixel per inch density for clear visuals as well. Overall, the screen stretches up to 85.89% screen-to-body ratio.
Software and Hardware
It runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with Oxygen 9.0 on top. Under the hood, is the Snapdragon 845 chipset from Qualcomm which comes with 8-cores of processor clocking at 2.8GHz offering a smooth ride.
The Adreno 630 graphics card handles everything graphics. The phone packs 256GB internal storage space for storing your files, you can expand up to 2TB using a memory card. It comes with 10GB RAM space for multitasking through apps and tasks.
Camera
The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition houses dual 16MP + 20MP rear camera for all your photography needs. The camera is equipped with a dual-LED flash and other internal features listed in the table below. For taking selfies, there’s a 16MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture.
Battery
Powering up the 6T McLaren Edition is a 3700mAh battery capacity with support for fast charging (Warp charge 30). Charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 1 hour.
