Lava R3 Prime has been unveiled as the company’s first smartphone for 2019. The device is powered by the new Helio A22 (MT6761) chip with AI and has the standard full view display targeting those on a budget. The new MT6761 brings along a IMG PowerVR GE8300 graphics card to handle graphics. The selfie focused smartphone sports a 13MP front shooter with f/2.0 aperture. It’s an update to the Z81.
Design
The device sports a streamlined ultra thin metal + plastic unibody and sports a single rear camera. There’s a rear fingerprint scanner as well as support for Face Unlock. It measures 8mm in thickness, weighs 141.2g and will be available in Blue and Gold.
Display
The R3 Prime is built around a 5.7-inch HD IPS LCD full view display. The screen boasts of 720 x 1280 pixels in resolution along with a 269 pixel per inch density for clear visuals as well. Overall, the screen stretches up to 77.2% screen-to-body ratio.
Software and Hardware
It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box. Under the hood, is the Helio A22 (MT6761) chipset from MediaTek which comes with 4-cores of processor clocking at 2.0GHz offering a smooth ride.
The IMG PowerVR GE8300 graphics card handles everything graphics. The phone packs 32GB internal storage space for storing your files, you can expand up to 256GB using a memory card. It comes with 3GB RAM space for multitasking through apps and tasks.
Camera
The Lava R3 Prime houses a 13MP rear camera for all your photography needs. The camera is equipped with a dual-LED flash and other internal features listed in the table below. For taking selfies, there’s a 13MP selfie shooter.
Battery
Powering up the R3 Prime is a 3000mAh battery capacity with support for fast charging. Charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 2 hours.
