Huawei has posted teasers about an upcoming Maimang 8 smartphone in China, which is expected to launch globally as Mate 30 Lite, however, that is not yet certain.
The phone runs on Android 9 Pie out of the box, so this means Huawei has been developing the smartphone for sometime now, way before the Google ban.
The phone will be presented on the 5th of June and will be the upgraded variant of the Maimang 7 released last year. The Maimang 8 will be built around a 6.21″ display and has a waterdrop notch just like the P30 Pro.
It will sport a triple 24MP + 8MP + 2MP rear camera and will have a 6/128GB configuration. The chipset is still unknown but we are almost certain the Kirin 710 will be in charge. There will be a rear fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm jack as well.
