Huawei Honor WaterPlay 8 is a waterproof tablet that just found its way to shopping stores. This new tablet from Huawei is IP67 certified offering dust and water resistant and offering overall rigidity. It’s also one of the few tablets with dual rear camera for photography. The Tablet is powered by the KIRIN 659 chip with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. It will be joining the Honor Pad 5 and MediaPad M5 Lite on shopping stores.
Design
The tablet was designed with aluminium alloy and looks quite slim for a tablet. The dual rear camera can be seen at the top left corner, while the Honor logo is at the centre. The fingerprint scanner has been moved to the front as well. It measures 8mm in thickness, weighs 310g overall and was announced in only Silver color.
Display
The Honor WaterPlay 8 is built around an 8-inch IPS LCD notch display. The screen boasts of 1920 x 1200 pixels in resolution along with a 283 pixel per inch density for clear visuals. Overall, the beautiful screen stretches up to 78% screen-to-body ratio as well.
Software and Hardware
It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. Running the race here is the HiSilicon KIRIN 659 chipset from Huawei, it comes with 8-cores of processor clocking at 2.36GHz for a smooth ride.
The ARM Mali-T830 MP2 graphics card controls graphics. For storing files, the device packs 64GB internal storage space variants which is expandable up to 256GB using a memory card. It boasts of 4GB RAM space as well for multitasking through apps.
Camera
The Huawei Honor WaterPlay 8 is equipped with dual 13MP + 2MP rear camera for photography. The camera is accompanied by a LED flash and other internal features listed in the table below. For taking selfies, there’s an 8MP selfie shooter for all your selfies.
Battery
Powering up the WaterPlay 8 is a 5100mAh battery capacity with support for fast charging. Charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 2 hours.
