HomTom S17 has been introduced by HomTom as the upgraded variant of the S16 budget-friendly device. This is coming just weeks after we saw the HomTom HT70, HomTom H5 and HomTom H10. The S17 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and dishes out a full view display.
Design
It looks like the S16 from afar, but there are a few changes when you come close. The dual rear cameras are vertical at the top middle with dual-LED Flash in-between, while the fingerprint scanner sits right beside the duo. There’s a loudspeaker at the bottom corner, you can get in in Black and Gold colors.
Display
The S17 is built around a 5.5-inch IPS LCD full view display. The screen boasts of 640 x 1280 pixels in resolution along with a 260 pixel per inch density for sharp visuals. Overall, the screen stretches up to 75% screen-to-body ratio.
Software and Hardware
It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box. Under the hood, the MT6580 chipset from MediaTek sits behind the screen, it comes with 4-cores of processor clocking at 1.3GHz for a smooth ride.
The ARM Mali-400 MP2 graphics card manages graphics. For storing files, the device packs 16GB internal storage space variants which is expandable up to 128GB using a memory card. It boasts of 2GB RAM space for multitasking through apps.
Camera
The S17 is equipped with dual 13MP + 2MP rear shooters for photography. The camera is accompanied by a dual-LED flash and other internal features. For taking selfies, there’s an 8MP selfie shooter for all your selfies as well.
Battery
Powering up the HomTom S17 is a 3000mAh battery capacity with no fast charging technology. Without the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% might take up to 2 hours.
