Google Pixel 2 VS Pixel 3, is the new Google Pixel 3 a worthy upgrade? Google released the Pixel 2 last year, a premium device that has great features and today we will be comparing it to the newly released Pixel 3 which is the little sibling of the Pixel 3 XL. The Pixel 2 was made with aluminum alloy. It has a glass and aluminum back and its fingerprint scanner is textured on the aluminum portion of the back, while the camera house is on the glass part and it can survive underwater for up to 1m or 3.3ft down for an hour. While the new Pixel 3 is curved with a glossy aluminum alloy sandwiched by the front and back glass. The glass back is for wireless charging and it has a centrally-placed fingerprint sensor near the top. The Google Pixel 2 weighs less at 143g, while the Pixel 3 weighs 148g.

The Pixel 2 sports a 5.0-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, the screen has a pixel per inch density of 441. While, the Pixel 3 sports a taller 5.5-inch FHD+ P-OLED capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 2160 Pixels in resolution and 439ppi.

The Pixel 2 houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset with an Octa-core processor clocking speed of up to 2.45GHz. The Google Pixel 2 has 4GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage space.
While the Pixel 3 houses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with Octa-core processor clocking at 2.5GHz. In the RAM department, the Pixel 3 has 4GB and 64GB/128GB storage space.
For the Software, the Pixel 2 runs on the Android 8.0 Oreo operating system. While the Pixel 3 runs on the Android 9.0 Pie operating system.

The Pixel 2 has a rear camera setup of 12.2MP with a front/Selfie camera of 8 megapixels. While the Pixel 3 has the same rear camera set up of 12.2MP with a great dual front camera of 8 + 8MP with f/1.8 + f/2.2 aperture.

Powering the Pixel 2 is a 2700 Li-lon battery with fast battery charging. While the Pixel 3 is powered by a 2915mah Non-removable Li-Po battery with fast battery charging as well.
Google Pixel 2 Vs Pixel 3: Verdict
They are both good smartphones with impressive features. I think the Pixel 3 is better than the Google Pixel 2 obviously, but that doesn’t stop the fact that the Pixel 3 isn’t much of an upgrade.
