Cubot Quest with Android 9.0 Pie launched as the World’s First Smartphone For Sports

Cubot Quest has been announced at the Global Sources Electronics Show (GSES) as the world’s first smartphone for sports. The rugged beauty is IP68 certified offering dust and water resistant. It’s powered by the Helio P22, with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. One of its highlights is the fact that it runs on Android 9 Pie out of the box. The device will be joining Cubot P20, Cubot J3 Pro and Cubot King Kong 3 on shopping stores.

It’s a rugged smartphone, so it’s not surprising why it was built with Polycarbonate at the back and w Corning Gorilla Glass at the front. The dual cam and LED flash are seen horizontal at the top while the fingerprint scanner follows closely underneath.

The Quest is built around a 5.5-inch HD+ IPS LCD full view display. The screen boasts of 720 x 1440 pixels in resolution along with a 293 pixel per inch density for sharp visuals. Overall, the screen stretches up to 74% screen-to-body as well.

Software and Hardware

It runs on Android 9.0 Pie operating system out of the box. Under the hood, the Helio P22 chipset from MediaTek runs the race, it comes with 8-cores of processor clocking at 2.0GHz for a smooth ride.

The PowerVR GE8320 graphics card handles graphics. For storing files, the device packs 64GB internal storage space which is expandable up to 256GB using a memory card. It boasts of 4GB RAM space for multitasking through apps.

Camera

The Cubot Quest features dual 12MP + 2MP rear camera for photography. The camera is accompanied by a LED flash and other internal features listed in the table below. In the selfie department, there’s a single 8MP selfie shooter for all your selfies as well.

Battery

Powering up the Quest is a 3900mAh battery capacity with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 2 hours.
